We teach you how to look after yourself and how to help others, by giving you the knowledge of how to be safe in many situations, and how to stay safe while helping someone in distress. There are a number of Royal Lifesaving SocietyR awards that we teach, assess and certificate in order to achieve this. We also participate in local, regional, national and international lifesaving competitions.

We are open to everyone who can swim 50m continuously with good style. And club membership is only £8 a year!

Lifesaving in its broadest sense implies the saving of life through the prevention of accidents, personal survival and rescue of others. Supervised aquatic activities in swimming pools, leisure centres and open water locations are immensely popular, but accidents often occur in places such as rivers, lakes, and canals where the presence of qualified lifeguards is rare. Even on the coast, many beaches are not patrolled. Sudden changes in climate and environment put people at risk throughout the year. For these reasons, all members of the community should learn the basic principles of lifesaving.

It is also a great way to keep fit!
