Life Support 3

To gain this award candidates must be able to perform excellent CPR on an adult, child and infant manikin, turn a live casualty, show action for vomit and the recovery position. Candidates should demonstrate an excellent level of knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrest, bleeding, choking, shock, hypothermia and drowning.

Prerequisites: None

This award includes the following skills. Awareness of own safety, checking responsiveness, sequence of life support, action for vomit, recovery position, cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Pocket masks, managements of hypothermia and drowning, diagnosis and treatment of bleeding, choking and shock.
